About
Hello! My name is Zione Hong and I am a deaf artist. My major is Digital Media with a focus on 2D & 3D Animation. I am graduating from Otis College of Art and Design in 2021 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Digital Media. I am experienced and have a deep understanding of video and photography production, including editing, coloring, lighting, mixing, motion graphic production, and shooting. I am highly experienced in the Adobe Suite, with an emphasis on Maya, Photoshop, After Effects and Illustrator. I am also well versed in Blender 3D, Premiere and Procreate. I specialize in traditional 2D animation as well. I continuously seek to grow my software design skill base. I am a designer, storyteller and character animation artist. I have a passion for creating short animated films which are equally accessible and enjoyed by a diverse audience. Growing up as a deaf individual, I did not have exposure to any types of animation with identifying role model characters who use sign language. It is my life’s work to cultivate my artistic skill set to provide inclusivity through compassionate and empathetic storytelling experiences for all audience members.

The story opens with music being played by a classical music loving dog. Suddenly, a loud noise disrupts his practice. He looks out his window toward his neighbor. He sees only a huge drum kit but no one playing it! How can this be? Can neighbors in a compact urban environment share space, have different tastes and still get along? Collaboration might just be the key for bringing harmony to an unlikely duo.

  • This project utilizes Maya 3D. I emplimened textures, fur, rigging of facial expression, and created the costume. This independent farm mouse is very curious and brave.

  • The Adventures of Tinsel: Consequence
    This 3D image captures Tinsel during a narrow escape from a predator in the big city. As Tinsel forages for food, he quickly learns he needs to always be alert and ready to protect himself.
