In this design, I focused on the organic shapes surrounding the site to create a space that is spacious and full of life and character. It is a public space with multiple areas of comfortable seating. It is a safe, welcoming and accommodating space for the community.

These three drawings show different views of the space as well as the main volumes of the building.
-
The first image shows an exterior view of the space, where customers can walk along a pathway with seating for rest. This outdoor space also includes a water way with different plantings that runs along site. The second image shows an interior view into the library.

This view captures the different work areas available for both residents and the public. Comfortable seating is available throughout the corridors, with views to different floors both above and below.

With an increased awareness of how our surroundings can impact health and productivity, I took the initiative to re design two floors from an existing building by following a holistic approach. This co-living and co-working space promotes a balance between physical, emotional and spiritual well-being by allowing its users to feel good and function well on a daily basis. Some of the elements I included were cross ventilation for fresh air, natural lighting, and single-use modular furniture for comfort.

Both interior views capture different programs within the fifth floor of the building. The first image shows work stations available to the residents. The second image, shows a quiet area across from the work stations. This area offers multiple private spaces where one can meditate and recharge oneself before going back to work, or just for fun. The benefits of mediation are endless.

This perspective section shows an overall view of two floors that were redesigned in this building. The single-use work spaces can be seen on the fourth floor and the open-space work stations and meditation rooms can be seen on the fifth floor.

This interior view shows an espresso bar outside of the main cafe. Located on the fourth floor of the Dance Center, users are encouraged to walk throughout the entirety of the building before reaching the cafe. It is a public space.

The third floor consists of the upper level of the performance hall, an exterior balcony that wraps around the side of the building, overlooking Hollywood Boulevard and two more classrooms for the students. The main cafe is located on the fourth floor, with an outdoor patio for seating that overlooks the city. Four different dance studios are located on this floor as well, where students have access to locker rooms and showers.

This is a proposal for a new ground-up building located at the intersection of Hollywood and Highland. It is set to be a Dance Center offering different classes to eligible college students. On the ground level, users have two separate access points to enter and exit the building. Apart from the gift shop, restrooms and conference room, the ground level is made up of private spaces for the students and faculty of the Dance School. The second floor consists of the main lobby area and the performance hall, where students perform their dance recitals annually to the public.

This view shows a work station open to the public, students and faculty. It also captures the main cafe in the back and the espresso bar.
