Breakup Secrets Event Concept

Breakup Secrets is a space where you can listen to others’ journey of hurt and loss or participate by sharing yours. Held in the Whispering Gallery in St. Paul's Cathedral, the event embraces the anonymous nature of whispering in a large space. We live private lives, sharing personal stories via our phones more often than in person, so the event turns whispered text submissions into wall displays. You can participate by watching the words travel across the wall, by reading the published secret stories on the Secret Notes app, and by whispering your own to a text bot.

Tinder Biographies is a collection of hundreds of bios from online dating profiles found in LA. These bios are spaces for self expression and self advertising, using charm, humor, seduction, and vulnerability to gain someone's interest. They present a side of human behavior that is often overlooked for its superficiality, however it's their ability to make us laugh, cringe, groan, and relate that makes them a unique writing form worth our attention. Tinder Biographies makes permanent these fleeting messages so we may acknowledge the strange humanity hidden within the way we express and advertise ourselves online.

About the Artist
Eliza is a graphic designer based in Los Angeles whose practice focuses on publication design, type design, and brand identity. Her work incorporates illustration, printmaking and motion.
She is interested in conceptualizing design projects, finding unexpected solutions, and collaborating with others. She believes design should embrace experimentation, merge the analog and the digital, and (always) integrate custom typography.
