A silent narrative 34-page comic, Starlight, explores fantasy and friendship. The story is about a star born colorless and becomes depressed as he can’t shine, but through the aid of the moon god, the star can now shine in the universe. I created this comic to convey that the issues of self-loathing can be prevented through the power of friendship, as it can be impactful by bringing joy and loving yourself for who you are.

Feast is an acrylic painting that illustrates the word in my interpretation. The items in the painting are sketchbooks that I love to collect and buy over the years, and the foods represent my Mexican culture and others I enjoy. I chose to illustrate my interest to convey what type of artist I am and that my culture is a part of who I am.

Seahorse is a project that focuses on marine life. I chose to illustrate a seahorse as they are beautiful and intelligent creatures born with various colors they use to hide from predators. To print the illustration, I used linoleum blocks for the first time and loved the process as it showed each carving mark I did can be seen when it is printed on paper with ink.

The Mythical Cat Sleeping in the Forest is a 3D project that involves life and fantasy. In the box lies a cat coated with vibrant color patterns on its coat and is surrounded by various items. I wanted to express that people with a negative outlook on cats have a sweet and gentle side that is often overlooked.
