About the Artist
I am  a South African artist who delves into identity, body dysmorphia and mental illnesses. Body fragments and figures are often used throughout my practice as means to make sense of how intrinsically intertwined our physical attributes are to our self-image. I investigate how this relationship has the potential to alter one’s behavior or one’s social and psychological well-being. These body fragments stem from unrealistic bodies represented in social media and visual culture.
