Your Additional Work
Here's a sticker-sheet-style collage of some of my action figure characters! I've always loved action figures and boys' toys; in my free time, I collect action figures and vinyl figures. In the future, I definitely see myself creating an inspiring, yet wacky and fun, action figure line for older kids! I'd love to create a story and line that breaks boundaries. My entire life, I've wanted to see a very fashion-forward and inclusive action figure line that doesn't center around generic and stereotypical superheroes and supervillains. With that in mind, I created "BloodLine", an action figure line, intended for kids ages 13 and up. It follows a group of assassins, The Gross Team, as they try to simultaneously keep up with their business and learn how to raise a child.
About the Artist
Hey, gorge! Welcome to my exhibition website! My name is Hope! I'm a 2022 graduate of Otis College of Art & Design, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Toy Design, with skills ranging from sketching to 3D modeling to package design to illustration and digital rendering. I'm also an LA-born and LA-based designer; I'm a classic valley girl, minus the girl part. I'm a queer and trans person trying to make a difference in the world. Growing up, I never saw myself represented in media, especially children's toys and media; that's why I've decided to formally invite myself to the world of toy design. My goal is to make sure that every child feels seen and represented. That being said, a lot of my work incorporates themes of diversity and inclusion, as well as fun and wacky storytelling. My work has an emphasis on character design, worldbuilding, goofiness, and terrible names. Lots of terrible names. I have no idea how to name things.
