This is the two outfit for Zaid Affas Mentorship. I was inspired by the Japanese cultural heritage and men's kimono. As my identity belongs to this culture, this collection reflects the myself. I incorporated the recycled kimono scraps for sustainable aspect of the collection.

This was the costume project for Trish Summerville Mentorship partnered with Mandy Tong. These outfit were inspired by the dangerous insect of Lantern flies. We incorporated a lot of recycled materials to imitate the texture and the patterns on the insects.

About the Artist
Hi, I am Haruka Yamamoto. I was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. I came to the United States to pursue my dream to be an inspirational designer at Otis College of Art and Design. I am passionate, hardworking, innovative, and enthusiastic about sharing my creativity with designing. I love to explore my perspective which largely inspired by my own cultural identity. This shows the journal of Otis education, and my passion towards the experiment of textile, fabric treatment, design, illustration, and sustainability. I am also recognized as the Valedictorian of class of 2022.
