About
Hello, I am Soline Gauthier, a senior in Fashion Design at Otis College of Art and Design. At Otis, I was able to research current trends, and develop a thorough knowledge of fabric to be able to create unique looks. I also learned to be organized, to work with a concept team, and to take advantage of fittings and working with Mentors. I mastered Procreate, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to design detailed technical sketches. In addition, I studied embroidery at Ecole Lesage in Paris, and online with the Royal School of Needlework in London.

Dentelle Océanique

Dentelle Océanique Lace
This is a collection I created this year. The collection intends to capture the essence and movement of the ocean. It takes the organic shape of coral as the primary inspiration.
  • Fabric Board
This is an image of my fabric board. The choice of fabric seeks to bring awareness to the slow extinction of coral reefs by imitating the texture and fading color of dying coral
  • Collection Line Up
  • First Illustration
This is my first illustration; a short dress inspired by 60's dress silhouettes. I integrated my lace treatment throughout the dress making the lace appear to grow like coral.
  • Second Illustration
This is my second illustration, I have designed a long, flowy dress. I continued to present my lace in a way that appears as through it grows throughout the garment and model
  • Third Illustration
This third illustration is a double layered dress. I was inspired by the roaring 20's dress silhouettes. I designed it to mimic the way coral overlaps in the way the layers of the dress interact..
  • Fourth Illustration
This is my fourth illustration, I have designed a short, multi-layered dress. I was inspired by the waves of the ocean so I chose to combine yellow, green, and blue chiffon together to imitate a wave.
  • Fifth Illustration
In my fifth illustration, I have designed a handkerchief shaped dress. I integrated the lace treatment throughout the dress making the lace appear to grow like coral.

Rue Des Rosiers

Parisian Inspired Mood Board
This is a collection I created that was inspired by rose gardens and the streets and feeling of Paris. I took it upon myself to create my own textiles, and appliqués.
  • Fabric Board
For this fabric board, I weaved my own Bouclé and created my own tweed appliqué flowers. I also experimented with laser cutting.
  • Concept Board
This is my concept board inspired by the Versailles rose gardens and iron gates. I wanted to take the initiative to create my own textiles with the intention of designing for young and fashionable Parisian woman.
  • Collection Line Up
  • First Illustration
My first illustration is a motorcycle jacket made out of Bouclé, paired with a jumpsuit featuring a laser-cut rose design.
  • Second Illustration
My second illustration is a tight dress made out of Bouclé, paired with a long shear chemise with the rose and vine appliqué I designed.
  • Third Illustration
My third illustration is of pair of long plaid trousers, paired with a long flowy top that has the laser-cut textile I created.
  • Fourth Illustration
My fourth illustration: a tailored jacket made out of Bouclé, decorated with my tweed flower appliqués, and paired with a long pleated skirt.

Printed Woods

Wood Theme Collection
This is a collection I created focusing on playing with prints. The collection is inspired by Russia, and the colors of the transition between fall and winter
  • Fabric Board
This is the fabric board for the collection. I chose to try combinations of different prints and patterns, as well as combining shearling and leather.
  • Concept Board
This is the concept board, I found my inspiration from Russia; particularly Red Square in Moscow and Russian nesting dolls. This gave me the idea to combine different printed fabrics together. I designed a modern young collection. I also decided to experiment with layered and asymmetrical designs.
  • Collection Line Up
  • First Illustration
Illustration one has a small tailored blazer with exaggerated shoulders, paired with a boyfriend jeans silhouette and a tunic with overlapping panels. Instead of denim, the jeans are made out of stripe suiting
  • Second Illustration
This is the second illustration, it has a short off-shoulder jacket with an exaggerated collar made out of shearling. It is paired with a long dress made up of different panels of a variety of printed fabrics.
  • Third Illustration
This is the third illustration: a long coat made out of shearling and leather paired with a collar shirt with different prints, and tailored pants.
  • Fourth Illustration
In the fourth illustration,I designed a shorter version of the coat from the previous illustration. The coat here is combined with a collared shirt made up of different printed fabrics along with an asymmetrical tailored skirt.
